Goan Chouriço Pulau

( For 2 people)


  • 250gms Dona Lou’s Goan Chouriço (Remove the sausage casing before cooking)

  • 2 large Onions (Sliced)

  • 1.5 cups Basmati Rice (preferably long grain)

  • 2 medium sized Tomatoes (chopped) optional

  • 2 tablespoon oil

Cooking Instructions:

Step 1 In a saucepan, add 2 tbsps of Oil. Fry the Onions till soft and slightly brown.(option to add tomatoes and fry well)

Step 2 Add the sausage meat to the onions. Mix in well. Add 2 cups water. Cover the skillet with lid and cook for 15 mins. (Medium heat)

Step 3 When its almost dry, add another 3 cups of water and bring to boil. Then add the bastmati rice, mix well.

Step 4 Cover with a lid and let it cook on very low heat till the water dries up or rice is cooked. (If rice is uncooked just add a little more water if needed, leave for few more minutes).

(Note: With the Dona Lou’s Chouriço you should not need to add anything else!)
